Philippians 3:10 (KJV)
10That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
11If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
To Know Him.
Know in this verse is translated, according to the Lexicon Dictionary, to become acquainted with. It is also translated in a more intimate term such as in Genesis 4:1. When we know God, we become one with him. We think, act and talk like him.
The POWER Of His Resurrection.
Power is a common conversation piece when talking about God. But, have you ever stopped to think about it? Power is the act or ability to produce an effect. God had shown his power in creation. He shown his power when he delivered Israel from Egypt. He had shown power in the conquest of Jericho and the Land of Canaan. It was/is miraculous power. It was/is a power that is an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in our lives. Webster Dictionary states that a synonym for resurrection is REVIVAL. We must be acquainted with the miraculous power of revival.
The Fellowship of His Sufferings.
Walking with the Lord is like a bed of roses. It is beautiful and grand, but there are always the thorns. Sure we have to participate, whether willingly or unwillingly, in the pain and hardships of this life. But, we must keep in mind; he’s been through it all. He’s as close as the mention of his name. He may not take the trial completely away, but he develops our faith so that we may stand tall in him through the trial.
Being Made Conformable Unto His Death.
As children, we all played “Follow the Leader”. Whatever the leader said or did, we repeated. When something is made conformable, it is jointly fashioned after it. We must put to death the sin and spiritually unhealthy attitudes and habits.
I Might Attain Unto The Resurrection Of The Dead.
To attain in this verse is translated to arrive at. When we began to have a reviving after we have “died”, we are not just almost there or going to be there. We ARE there. When we have laid aside the weight that so easily troubles us, we begin to have a revival within our hearts. When we experience that revival, it is miraculous. Our revival will be full of miracles.
We are not just on our way to revival. WE ARE THERE! We are going to see the miracles of his power. I want to know my God in such a way that the power of this revival is all over me and keeping me alive. Alive in the spirit!
