I know that it has been talked about for years that our Lord is coming back to take us to Heaven. But, the Second Coming of Jesus is closer now than ever before. Jesus prophesied about the end times. These things are coming to pass even as I write this.
Matthew 24:2-7 KJV
2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? Verily I say unto you, there shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3 And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying; tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Luke 21:25-28 KJV
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
The wars and talks about more war…nations rising up against one another…famines and the droughts that so many areas of the world is experiencing…pests and plagues of sickness…the earthquakes, some the biggest countries have ever seen…astronomers trying to pin point the end time as December 21, 2012…nations are in distress and confused…the tsunamis. People will begin to look around them in fear and start looking for answers. There will be those that stand up and try to deceive many. But, we need to speak up and let them know that the answers that they seek are within the pages of the Word of God. Not from the mouth of some man crying, “Peace, peace. I have the answer.”
Luke 21:28 says, “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” We need to start looking up! Our redemption is drawing nigh. Jesus is getting ready to tell Gabriel, “Pick up your trumpet. It is time for me to deliver and liberate my people!”
Now is not the time to slack in your walk with God! Clean up your act! Get your life straightened out. Search the Word of God for the answers that you need. Make the necessary changes. Quit worrying about what so and so is going to think when you make those changes. This is eternity we are talking about…not some vacation trip for a short time. Speak up and let others know. There are thousands of people in this world who have yet to hear the Acts 2:38 plan of salvation that God has for us. There are many who need encouragement in living an overcoming lifestyle. And, look up. He IS coming soon. Matthew 25:13 KJV says, “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour where in the Son of man cometh.” We have not been given a set time when that trumpet will blow and He splits the clouds and calls us home. That it is why it is so crucial that we are ready at all times!
These thoughts have been on my mind a lot since the Tsunami and earthquakes in Japan; especially after seeing the devastation that it has caused. And, I am not the only one. I have heard it preached in church, on the radio and have heard people talk about it in passing. I think it is about time that we take it all more seriously. We must clean up, speak up and look up!
