Isaiah 58:11 (KJV), "And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not."
Drought. Most of us know exactly what a drought is. So many states are experiencing a severe drought. Even hearing the word and we picture a dry, parched and scorched landscape. One little spark could start a blaze that has the potential of burning acres and acres. And, even though that can be devastating, things will grow back...sometimes even more beautiful than before. When I read about those who have lost their homes during these times, my heart goes out to them. Even though the physical building and belongings are lost, the memories remain. And, a house can always be rebuilt. But, sometimes that is not very reassuring when you are in the midst of it all.
Spiritually speaking, we all face times where we go through a time of drought. Whether it is financial stress, the fact that the car/truck just will not run right or the domino effect of the cares of this life. God is still in control. We need to allow Him to lead and guide us continually. Even when it seems like there is a threat of "wildfires". He has promised that if we allow Him to guide us, He will satisfy our souls during these times. And He will gives us the strength we need. We will be like a garden that is well watered and flourishing and like a spring of water that never runs dry.
And, if by chance that our circumstances ignite into a blaze of uncertainty, He will bring us out on the other side of those circumstances in a new growth that blossoms into something beautiful for His glory. He will rebuild our broken hearts and minds. For you see, He is a God with whom ALL things are possible. There is nothing too hard for Him. And, hold onto the promise of Jeremiah 29:11 (MSG), "I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out - plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for." ♥
