Dilapidate or Regenerate?!

Every so often I look on the Merriam-Webster website to read the word of the day.  today the word was Dilapidate.   Dilapidate, pronounced \dih-LAP-uh-dayt\, is define as "to bring into a condition of decay or partial ruin".  Some antonyms of dilapidate or decay is regenerate, renew, refresh, cleanse, purify and develop.

In the world we live in today, it can be so easy to get distracted from the path of righteousness if you are not daily connecting to Jesus in prayer and reading the Word of God.  I know that I have said it before...if the appliance is not connected to the power source, it will not work properly.  If we do not stay connected to Jesus, our power source, we will not work as He intended for us to work.  There may come a time in your life when you realize that you have strayed too far from your roots and your spiritual life begins to shrivel up and decay sets in...your thinking is polluted and your faith begins to crumble.  But, there is hope.  He has promised not to leave us nor forsake us.  All we have to do is call out to Him and He will be right there!

In Psalm 51:10, it says, "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me."  This is a scripture that I like to pray often.  There have been times in my life that I have been distracted from where I was heading and I was spiritually miserable.  So, I want to always be ready to make the change I need to so that I can stay on track with Him.  Sometimes the changes that need to be made may be ones that are more difficult to change.  But, in the end, it will be worth it to be renewed, refreshed, cleansed, purified and developed into a useful vessel for HIS glory.
