Yippeeeee!

The kids and I headed to Grapevine for a Flanagan Family Reunion. The Flanagan's is my Mother-in-law's side of the family. Grandpa Jack Flanagan, who passed away several years ago, was who my husband and my son are named after. The reunion was out as Nash Farm. It is a farm that has a pavillion that you can rent. Each family bought something to eat. They had smoked chicken and brisket (Mmmmm!), salads, jalepeno cornbread (I love jalapenos!), veggies and fruit...and do not forget about a dozen or more different desserts (The cheesecake was yummy!). The kids were having fun running in the field that had old tractors in it. Everything from horse drawn tractors to those with motors. They rode on a small hay ride several times. (Of course with Jackson being allergic to hay, I had to make sure he had taken his Benedryl) We were getting ready to eat when my sister-in-law said that my Father-in-law had to "run to the store". A few minutes later the kids and I were sitting there eating when my sister-in-law came up behind me and said "Look what daddy picked up at the store". When I turned around there stood my husband! I was not expecting home until next week sometime. Everyone started laughing at my reaction: My eyes popped open real wide...my mouth probably about hit the floor and I jumped up and gave him a big hug and kiss. Him and his co-worker, Michael Little, had been driving since 2:00 this morning from Albuquerque so they could make it home today. My Father-in-law met them at a gas station there on the highway and brought him to the reunion. I guess everyone in the family but me and the kids knew he was coming. Jack had called his Dad this morning to let him know. It was quite a nice surprise. Jackson wouldn't hardly take his eyes off his Daddy. And, Kalynn immediately wanted to show him around the Farm. We had missed him a whole bunch.

Today I guess the excitement I feel of having my husband home after one seemingly very long week can best be described by saying...YIPPEEEE!
