Wisdom & Understanding

I was thinking a little bit ago that when God told Noah to build an ark because it was going to rain, I am sure he had all sorts of thoughts and questions go through his mind.  But, God had given him a specific plan to follow.  And, Had he revised the plan at all, the ark would not have fulfilled its purpose.

Well, God has a specific plan for our lives. And, when we try to revise it to fit what we think it should be, things don't turn out quite right.  Oh, things may seem to be just fine for a time, but when we do not follow the will of God for our lives, pain and heartache can be the end result.  

The past few days, I have been reading Proverbs.  And over and over in the first few chapters we are continually reminded to follow God's commandments.  And, we are advised to get wisdom and understanding.  According to the Merriam-Webster, wisdom is ability to discern inner qualities and relationships.  And, understanding is knowledge gained by comprehending.  As I've been reading this, it has been playing over and over in my mind, "get wisdom and get understanding" (Proverbs 4:7).  I need to seek out and have a plan of action to acquire wisdom and understanding for myself.  

God has a plan...a plan that I must follow.  No matter what comes my way, I know that I can trust that HIS plan will work.  And, I want to follow His plan and get the wisdom and understanding I need.  For it will preserve me (Proverbs 4:6)...it will lift me up (verse 8)...when I walk nothing will slow me down and when I run, I will not trip and stumble (verse 12)...I must not let them out of my sight and I must keep them in my heart (verse 21).  That is another thing that I am adding to my prayer list...wisdom & understanding.  ♥
