Candidate For Greatness.

"If you ever feel inadequate, then you are a "prime" candidate for greatness in God's hands. Just remember the 5 loaves and 2 fish and how once it hit God's hands it became more than enough!"  - Mark Condon

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (MSG), "And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.  For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucifiedAnd I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:  That your faith should not standin the wisdom of men, but in the power of God."  According to the Matthew Henry Commentary, this set of scriptures is talking about the first time Paul preached to the Corinthians.  If you read it, it sounds like He felt quite inadequate with himself.  BUT, it was the power of God moved upon Him to preach what he needed to preach.  We read throughout the New Testament the great messages and encouraging words that Paul went on to preach.  He didn't allow His feelings of inadequacy to keep him stuck in a rut.  But, he trusted that God would continue to empower him and give him the strength he needed.

Our feelings of inadequacy can make us prime, pliable clay in the hands of The Mighty Potter.  Look was He did with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes.  He blessed it, broke it and it fed (until they were full) 5,000 men beside the women and children.  And, there was 12 baskets of food left over!  He worked a miracle that went above and beyond what was needed.  You know, He can do the that for us today.  The Word of God says that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).   So, He is well capable of taking our inadequacies to mold and make us into something that is beyond what we think we can do.

I am so thankful that He empowers us to move forward and do great things for Him even when we feel inadequate and under-qualified.  I want to be pliable clay in His capable hands that can be molded into a useful vessel.  I want to follow HIS plan for me.  ♥
