~ The grace and mercy of God has been on my mind lately. There is a song sung by Mississippi Mass Choir that goes like this: "Your grace and mercy, brought me through. I'm living this moment, because of You. I want to thank you and praise you too. Your grace and mercy brought me though."
Lamentations 3:22 says, "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed , because his compassions fail not." His mercy endures forever and His compassion does not fail. As humans, we are prone to make mistakes. There is no one on this earth that is perfect and sinless.
But we have a hope that all that can be washed away and forgotten. I like what it says in 1 Corinthians 6:11, "And such were some of you: but ye are washed , but ye are sanctified , but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." All our sins can be away. We may remember our past, but God forgets it all. We are sanctified, meaning were are purified and totaled cleansed. We are justified or rendered to be righteous in Jesus name. This is not done by anything of our own doing, but by the Spirit of God.
There is a hymn we used to sing when I was a kid, "He brought me out of the miry clay, He set my feet on the Rock to stay; He puts a song in my soul today, A song of praise, hallelujah!" He has set my feet on a rock that has formed a strong foundation under my feet, spiritually speaking. I don't ever want to forget what His grace and mercy has done in my life. And, I want to have a thankful heart full of praise for His mercy and grace. I have the opportunity to live this very moment I am in because of Him.
