Loose Him & Let Him Go!

John 11:44, “And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.”

This verse is from the story of Lazarus that we all know well. Jesus had been traveling and preaching when someone came up to him and told him “Lord, the man you love is sick”. Instead of leaving right then, Jesus took another four days before he arrived in Bethany. In those four days Lazarus had died and been buried. When Jesus arrived in Bethany Mary and Martha came running to him and said “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died”. Even though Jesus physically had not been there physically, he was there in spirit the whole time. He had a plan and a purpose for Lazarus. But, when Jesus arrived, He walked to the tomb where Lazarus lay and said “Lazarus, come forth”. When he came walking out of the dark, damp and dreary tomb he was bound from his head to his feet in grave clothes. Jesus told them to Loose him and let him go. From that point on, Lazarus was a walking testimony of God’s love and grace.

We all know people who are “bound” from their head to their feet in “grave clothes”.  In fact, maybe someone you are right now.  The grave clothes that bind are, depression, disillusionment, discouragement, doubt, oppression, addiction; the list can  go on and on. But I know this, with out a shadow of doubt, that in the name of JESUS there is power and authority to command the devil and his spirits to loose them and let them go!

We are children of the King of Kings; he is the Captain of the Heavenly Army, Jehovah God Almighty. We do not have to stand idly by and allow the devil to tear down our lives or the lives of our brothers and sisters. It is time to take the authority and power we have in JESUS and use it to push the devil and his spirits back.  In these last days, is not the time to bail out and run in the other direction.  It is time to stand up and in Jesus name command those spirits to loose us and let us go…so that we can live in Victory…so that we can be walking testimony of God’s love and grace…so that we can praise Him and rejoice!
