A Friendly Person…

Proverbs 18:24 (NIV) says,  “A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.”

Our friendships must be cultivated.  We should not offend or quarrel with them but we must love them.  In our lifetime, friends will come and friends will go.  But, true friends will stick by you like family.  And, in order to have friends like that and to be a friend like that, we must show ourselves to be friendly.  Being friendly consists of being companionable, cordial, neighborly, warmhearted, devoted and loving.

I read the following points and I thought I’d share them: A friendly person, by Matt Maddix
1.   Listens to others.
2.   Freely compliments everyone they meet.
3.   Walks slowly through the crowd.
4.   Looks people in the eye when conversing.
5.   Smiles often and is genuine.
6.   Practices acts of kindness.
7.   Makes it a point to remember people’s names.
8.   Believes in people.
9.   Always speaks positive and encouraging words.
10. Is approachable.

What great advice.  Lord, helps me to show myself friendly to others.  I want to make a difference in the lives around me for You.
