Today is the day that people all over the world celebrate love. Expressing their love to those they care about in many various ways. Of course, we know that love is to be expressed daily to those we hold dear to our hearts. But, I was thinking today about the chapter in the Word of God that is considered the "Love Chapter"...1 Corinthians 13. Here we read about what love is and what love is not. But one verse that I wanted to mention today is the latter part of 1 Corinthians 13:13. In the Message translation it reads this way, "Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love." Now, that is some good words to live by! Trusting in God to such a unfaltering and constant degree...having a steady hope...and loving so much that it exceed the norm! If you think about it, just the latter part of that verse totally sums up how a Christians should conduct themselves.
Lord, thank you for this day that we set aside to show those we care. But, help me to take 1 Corinthians 13:13 to heart all year long! Help me to steadily trust you, hope unswervingly and love extravagantly! In doing these things, help me to shine brightly for you...so that I can make a difference in the lives around me.
