The Equal Equation

Humbleness + Prayer + Seeking God + Repentant heart = Prayers heard + Forgiven + Healing

2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV), "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray , and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Being called out by God is a blessed thing.  There are so privileges extended to His children.  But, it comes with some requirements to fulfill on our part.

We need to humble ourselves.  When we have a humble spirit, we will have a meek, gentle and moderate demeanor.  Being meek means that we can endure injury with patience and without resentment.  Being gentle is being kind and being free from harshness, sternness, or violence.  And, being moderate means that we will avoid extremes in our behavior and expressions...in turn we would be disciplined and exhibit self-control.

We need to pray.  In the Hebrew Lexicon, the word "pray" is defined as:  to intervene, to interpose, to intercede, to pray.  So, I believe that this verse means more that just taking time our to take to God every day.  According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, to intervene, interpose and intercede means to "to act as a go-between for opposing sides."  There will be times that we need to stand in the gap and be that connection to the Power of God for someone else.

Seeking His face.  To seek the face for God refers to seeking, desiring and requesting to be in His presence. The word "presence" in the Merriam-Webster is defined as "a position within view".  I like that.  When we seek the face of God, we are getting close enough to Him to clearly see who He is, what He is capable of doing in our lives and what His will or plan is for our lives.

Turning from our wicked ways.  When we read this we may think in our minds...wicked ways?  What wicked ways?  The word wicked in the Hebrew Lexicon means "bad, evil, displeasing, unkind, injurious, unhappy, unpleasant".  If you ask me, that covers a wide spectrum of things.  Turning from those ways would be the opposite...or good, righteous, pleasing, kind, useful or healthy, happy and pleasant.

When we do these things, THEN He will hear from heaven, forgive our sins and heal our land.

When He hears, this means that he will hear and follow through and do what needs to be done according to the tailor-made plan He has for our lives..

And, when He forgives, He forgets (Isaiah 43:25, "I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.")

And, He'll HEAL our land.  The word land is defined in the Hebrew Lexicon as "earth, country, territory, region, inhabitants or people of the land".  What needs healing today?  Healing in your home?  Healing for our country?  Healing for our churches?  Healing for family and family or even ourselves?  It is ALL available to us...in abunance.  Isaiah 59:1 says, "Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened , that it cannot save ; neither his ear heavy , that it cannot hear".  He is is well able to save, deliver, liberate, rescue us from whatever ails our body, mind and heart!

I homeschool my kids.  And, both of them, even though they are two years apart, have been learning about writing and solving equations and making sure that both sides equal.  I think it is safe to say that if we do what is required of us and He follows through (which, He always does)...the equation will be equal on both sides.  There is such a blessing, anointing and empowerment that comes to those who trust Him and follow the Word of God!
