"Man can become only what he is able to consciously imagine" -Dane Rudhyar
As a child did you ever daydream of what you would be when you grew up? I thought I'd be an architect, a legal secretary, an accountant or maybe an interior decorator. Those were just some of the ideas that went through my little head. But we all have dreams and visualizations in our mind of what we want to become. I know that I do. Sometimes I think that those things are so unattainable. But, with the help of the Lord, I want to attain those hopes and dreams
In Genesis 11:6 it says, "And the Lord said, Behold the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now noting will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do". This verse describes the mind-set of the people of the world at that time. They had imagined a tower tall enough that would reach the heavens. So, they set out to build such a building. God knew that if they imagined it and worked to achieve it, it would happen. We know the story, God confused their language. And, nobody could communicate with one another because everyone spoke a different language. God had his reasons for doing this. But in light of that, If we can imagine in our minds and hearts what we want to become and it is in agreement with the Word of God, our hearts desires can become attainable. Look at Joseph in the Old Testament...he had dream after dream. Yes, they were God-given dreams, but I am sure he would visualize them over and over in his mind. I am sure at times he thought that they would not come true. He was sold into slavery by his own brothers. Falsely accused and thrown into prison. But, eventually, in God's timing, those dreams came true.
Ecclesiastes 5:3 says that dreams come in a multitude of business. After a long, hectic and busy day, what kind of dreams do you have? More often than not your dreams that night will reflect the day you had. Along the same lines, If we surround ourselves in godly things, reading and studying the Word of God, praying and keeping a godly attitude; our hopes and dreams will reflect that lifestyle. Whether you dream of becoming a Minister, Pastor, Sunday School Teacher, orator or just an encourager...these things are attainable when you begin to imagine what God can do in your life.
Why not imagine and think of what you want to become? God has thoughts about you and I. In Jeremiah 29:11 it says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, not of evil, to give you an expected end". When something is expected, it is something that is hoped for and foreseen. He has hopes and dreams for each of lives...and in the His timing, He'll reveal them to you. With God nothing is impossible....So, just imagine what He could do with your life...imagine what you could become!
