Spring Up O Well!

Isaiah 12:2-3 says, "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation".

The word salvation is translated as deliverance, welfare, prosperity, victory. God is all that and more for us. We should not have to fear what the day will bring when we trust in His ability to be our salvation in any situation. He is our strength and song...Why? Because He has become our salvation.

In John 7:37-38, Jesus said, "If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water". Water quenches our thirst. But living water quenching a dry and thirsty soul. There are times of trials and troubles that can seemingly quench our soul and spirit. But the refreshing, thirst quenching water that Jesus offers is active, powerful, efficacious!

In Numbers 21, God told Moses "Gather the people together, and I will give them water". As they came to the well, Israel began to sing. They sang this song, "Spring up, O well; sing ye unto it". Isaiah 12:3 says "therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation". I wonder what would happen if when we were faced with difficult times we began to sing..."Spring Up O Well"? When we begin to sing praises to God, it takes our mind off of our circumstances and joy begin to well up in our soul. I believe that if we were to sing like the children of Israel did...spring up o well...we would be filled with living water that would actively, powerfully and effectively provide deliverance, prosperity and victory! Because when we come to God and asking Him to quench our thirsty soul...He will do it. Plain and simple...ask and you will receive.

Of course, you do not have to going through difficult times to start singing. That is what is so awesome about coming to God. No matter how your day is going...good or bad....He is there to sustain and maintain. The best way to sum it up is like the song says, "Only Jesus Can Satisfy Your Soul".
Only Jesus can satisfy your soul
And only He can change your heart
And make you whole
He'll give you peace you never knew
Sweet love and joy and Heaven too
For only Jesus can satisfy your soul
