HE is!

A friend emailed the lyrics to a song that has been on her mind. The title of the song is "HE IS" (see lyrics below). Another friend emailed Isaiah 9:6 as the scripture of the day. The best way to describe it in one little sentence would be: Jesus, He is everything to me.

HE IS...Isaiah 9:6 says, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
HE IS a wonder. When I begin to think of the things He has done, is doing and is capable of doing, it stirs up an exciting amazed wonder in me.
HE IS my counselor. Whatever I am facing, I can ALWAYS turn to Him for advice. Because He has a plan and purpose for my life and for every situation I face.
HE IS mighty and strong. ALL things are possible with Him. The only thing He cannot do is fail. He will ALWAYS make a way for me.
HE IS my everlasting Father. Just as a father looks over his children. Jesus is forever looking out for me. He is my continuing future.
HE IS the Prince of peace. He is the Captain of my ship. And on the stormy seas of life, He is my completeness, soundness and welfare.

If there was one scripture in the Word of God that could express all that HE IS...it would be this one. It not only explains all that He is capable of being for us...but that there is only one God. The fullness of who He is is ALL in that one child that was born...JESUS. The government shall be upon His shoulders...in Philippians 2:10 it says that at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow. Why? Because He is the King of kings and Lord of all. HE IS everything to me!

In John 1:1 it says, "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God". If you jump down to verse 15 it says, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth". After reading the words to "HE IS" and then reading these verses in John, it helps me to remember that: Jesus is truly everything that I ever need to face any situation in my life.
