We had an AWESOME service this morning at church! The message title was "The Word Is Loose". To sum it up...Isaiah 55:11 "So shall My word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it". When God speaks His word, it continues on until its purpose has been fulfilled! Remember the things you have been promised days, months or even years ago...you may think that they will never come to be...but hold on...when His word hits, that promise will become a reality!
When I was reading to Kalynn from her Bible story book this afternoon it brought out some interesting facts. For years and centuries people had heard that the Messiah would come as a baby. I am sure many lost hope and sight of that promise. Daniel even prophesied about it. He told of the "sixty-nine weeks". The thought of only sixty-nine weeks must have excited some...but those weeks were prophetic weeks. It wasn't for another 483 YEARS until Jesus was born. That is a classic example that when God speaks His word, it will come to be...it just maybe be at a different point in time. In Numbers 11:23 He asked Moses, "Is the Lord's arm too short? You will now see whether or not what I say will come true for you." In 2 Peter 3:8-9, it says, "But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." Isaiah 40:8 says that the word of our God shall stand FOREVER. That means that at all times, and on every occasion the word of God shall stand...it shall endure...it shall remain firm in the face of every situation and circumstance...it shall exist no matter what! So the word of God is on the loose...it is determined to complete that task it set out to do. His word does not return void! When God speaks a word (whether through the Word of God or through His anointed servants) it can not return to Him and say...'I'm sorry I could not complete the task'. It will accomplish and it will prosper!
So, I will hang onto the promises I have been given...for at the appointed time, they will become reality. Until then, I will continue to give Him the glory, honor and praise He deserves. For He has done GREAT things in our lives and He will continue to do so.
