Where is the staircase?

The subject of faith and stepping into the unknown has been on my mind a lot lately. We all have desires and things we hope to accomplish in our walk with God. Sometimes it takes being courageous and stepping out in faith to get there. A well-known scripture on faith is Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. This verse is not a definition of faith. But, it is a description of the power and action of faith. Faith is made up of an assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, and truth of God. When we have desires (things we hope for), we need to use our faith in Him as a firm foundation for those desires. Faith is the assurance that even though we may not see those desires coming to pass, we have proof of past experiences that He shall do it again.

Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase”. I remember growing up there were times my Mom would rearrange the furniture during the day while my Dad was at work. If he had to get up in the middle of the night, often times I would clearly hear him proclaim “ouch!” - for in the darkness he had forgotten that she had moved the couch or the coffee table. Faith is like that sometimes. We may not be able to see exactly where the staircase is that will lead us to where God wants us to be. But if we just have the assured reliance on HIS character, ability, strength and truth we will go up new flights of stairs that lead into “rooms” filled with many blessings and anointing!
My prayer is that He helps me to continue to strive to immerse myself in His Word and in prayer. And, that He continues to build my faith. That I may climb new flights of stairs into the blessings and anointing He has in store for me and my family."
