I was watching "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" (Veggie Tales) with my kiddos tonight. One of the characters said something at the end that caught my attention. "Sometimes a test helps us to decide what matters most." And then this scripture came to my mind. James 1:2-4 (KJV), "Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." I really like how the NIRV puts it, "Your faith will be put to the test. You know that when that happens it will produce in you the strength to continue. The strength to keep going must be allowed to finish its work. Then you will be all you should be. You will have everything you need."
I believe that every trial or test I go through has a purpose. And, I also believe that those trials or tests are just that...tests. What am I going to do...Who am I going to turn to...where am I going to go. No matter how hard the test may seem, the most important thing for me to remember is that God is with me every step of the way. And, even when the end result is not what I expected, He always knows what is best for my life.
I am SO thankful that I know who I can put my faith and trust in during the tests in my life. And even when I do not understand the whys of my situations, I know that He IS in control and that everything is going to be all right. ♥
