♪♫ " Lift up your voice and sing for joy. Clap your hands make a joyful noise. Blow the trumpet and shout. Praise Him for the victory. The weapons we use are not bombs and guns. Worship is the way that the battle is won. This is the way that we fight...Praise Him for the victory"
~ 2 Corinthians 10:4 says, "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds." What is a strong hold in this verse? It is anything that dominates you and keeps you from doing the will of God. How do you pull down those strong holds? Praise! Look at Joshua and the Battle of Jericho. How did they take the city? By marching around the walls and then ending it with a major praise session. Can you envision it your mind? They had walked silently for 6 days and then on the seventh day, they walked around the city silently for seven times. Then the trumpets blew and they did as God told them, "Shout for I have given you the city." And, the Word of God says that the walls fell down flat. These walls were impenetrable. They were thick and impossible to knock down, at least in man's eyes. And, I can't help but think that they didn't just stand there and shout a "hallelujah". They had been silent long enough. I'd like to think that they shouted and danced a victory dance before the Lord.
I woke up this morning with praise on my mind. And so, I am putting on my "praise shoes" and my "garment of praise" and I am going to praise Him! For he has done great things and He is in the process of doing even greater things! ♥
