“Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.” - PSALM 36:6
I like how this verse compares God’s righteousness to the great mountains. I love the mountains. So, when I think of mountains, I think of the how they are majestic, beautiful and mighty. God’s righteous acts are the same way. He always has a plan in mind when He makes a decision concerning our lives. And that plan will bring hope and blessing into our lives.
And, His judgments or his righteous decisions that He makes are compared to being a great deep. Just as the ocean goes to unfathomable depths, the righteous decisions He makes concerning our lives are unfathomable. We may not understand the how's and why’s but we can trust that He will go to great depths to make a way for us and to lead and guide us in the right direction if we are willing to submit to Him.
Not only does He preserve, care for and look out for the animals, He does the same for us. Luke 19:10 says that He came “to seek and to save that which was lost”. When we feel like we have been carelessly tossed to the side, pushed out of the way, downtrodden, separated and/or desperately in need of a spiritual renewal He is there to pick us up, dust us off and lead us back in the right direction. And then preserve and guard us from that point on.
But, in order for Him to be all this and so much more to us, we have to learn to place our complete trust in Him. We have to be willing to hand over the helm of our ship and tell Him to take control. That doesn’t mean that life will be smooth sailing from here on out. It just means that you have a Master Sailor at the helm and He is well able to master any storm that comes your way.
I am SO glad that I know where to put my trust. I am SO glad that He is in control. And, when the storms of life come, I can turn to Him and say, “I trust you. You’ve got this. And, I will do whatever you need me to do.”
