Isaiah 43:1-2, "But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned ; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee."
1 Peter 4:12 says, "Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you."
Trials come our way and sometimes we want to cry out why is this happening to me? But, a trial is just a test of character. How are we going to handle it? What will our next action be? In 1 Peter 4 is says don't be astonished or surprised when trials come your way. They are bound to happen. But, remember that God made us. He has a plan for our lives. These trials are to make us stronger not weaker. He has redeemed us by dying on the cross and rising again in victory. He is calling us by name to draw closer to Him. He has chosen us to be His heir...His children. Yes, spiritually speaking, we will pass through high waters and floods. But they will not engulf and drown us. And, yes, we will pass through the fire but we will not be burned nor consumed. The key words there are "pass through". We do not have to allow fear to overtake us. God all mighty is there with us every step of the way. ♥
