~ Malachi 4:2, "But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth , and grow up as calves of the stall."
There are such great promises in the Word of God for those who fear the name of the Lord. In this verse, to fear the name of the Lord means to honor, respect and be in awe or admiration of who He is and what He can do.
This verse says that the Sun of righteousness shall arise with healing in his wings. Just as the sun is the center of the solar system, this is talking about God as the center of our lives and affection. In his righteousness and power, He is going to arise with healing for our hearts, mind and bodies. Using the example of a sunrise, I picture in my mind the sun beginning to rise over the horizon, chasing away the darkness and illuminating the sky in such a beautiful array of colors. And, just as we stand in awe of a beautiful sunrise, we should feel the same about God. There is such a beauty in seeing Him work miracles, signs and wonders among the people of God.
I also like how this verse uses the metaphor of a growing calf coming out of the stalls. Again, I picture in my mind the early morning. The farmer walks up to the stall and open it up. Here is this little calf that is growing stronger day by day. He is just standing there waiting for the stall door to open. And, as soon as it does, he bounds out running and leaping and have a good ol' time. To that little calf, it doesn't matter who is watching or what else is going on. In much the same way, we should have this mentality when we receive a healing. It shouldn't matter who is watching or what else is going on. We should rejoice, leap and dance before the Lord in praise and thanksgiving with everything that is within us.
I have become increasingly aware of the rise of sickness, disease and cancer lately. I know of at least three women who have recently found out that they have cancer. I have a brother-in-law that recently found out that he has MS. And, of course all those that have seasonal allergies and other seasonal illnesses. But, I know for a fact that my God is bigger than all these things. The Word of God tells me that "with God nothing shall be impossible". So, whether it is cancer, MS, allergies or any other sickness...He is WELL able to take care of it! I truly believe that we are on the verge of seeing miracles, signs and wonders like we have never seen before. And, I believe that, that includes healing. And, just as the sun rises up in splendor over the horizon, God is rising up in all his glory and power with healing that will chase away the darkness and illuminate our lives with healing. And, there will be rejoicing among the people of God. It isn't going to matter who is watching or what else is going on around us...we will be rejoicing with everything that is within us!
Jesus, just at the mention of your name, such reverence wells up inside of me. I pray that you rise up over the horizon of our lives and illuminate it with your healing power. Lord, show us the miracles, signs and wonders. Show us your great power. I thank and praise you in advance…and I rejoice at the great and mighty works you are doing and are about to do in our lives. And, I give you ALL the glory, honor and praise. In JESUS name, Amen, SO BE IT. ♥
