Got A Handle On Life?

Hebrews 11:1 (MSG), “The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It's our handle on what we can't see.”

After reading this scripture, a song came to my mind that says, “Have faith in God.  Just have faith in God.  Trust in Him and never doubt. I know that Lord will work it all out, if you just have faith in God.” 

Mark 11:22-23 (NIV) says, “ "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.”

Mark 10:27 (NIV) says, “Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."

1 Timothy 2:8 (KJV) says, “I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.”

Doubt may start as a little seed in our mind.  But, it can grow into a tree that shades our minds from the “light”.  Jesus said in John 12:46, “I am Light that has come into the world so that all who believe in me won't have to stay any longer in the dark.”  Anyone who puts their trust and faith in God, won’t have to stay in the darkness any longer.  You see, faith can also act as an ax that cuts down the trees of doubt that are shading your heart from the light.  All things are possible with God…  We must allow encouraging words like these to boost our faith and help us lift up our hands and pray without doubting and trust and believe that no matter comes our way God WILL work it out in a way that is best for us.

Life is full of door of decisions.  But, if faith is the handle on that door…that is the door you choose.  You may not see what lies on the other side of that door.  But, with trust and faith in God as the handle, it will open up a door that brings hope into our life.  Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Lord, teach us to place our faith and trust in you.  Help us not to allow seeds of doubt to be planted in our hearts when things things do not go as we think that they should.  But, help us to look at the handle called faith and open up a door of hope and possibilities.  For with you, ALL things are possible.
