Colossians 3:15 (MSG), “Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness.”
Being at peace with one another is an important part of our walk with God. Have you ever been singing in a choir or listening to one sing and maybe one person is not in tune with the others. It can totally change how the choir sounds. But, when each one sings their part and is in tune with each other it can bring together a beautiful melody. That is how it is in our walk with God…we must remain in tune with one another. Working together to make a difference in the lives around us.
And added to the end of that verse, it says…”and cultivate thankfulness”. We to encourage the growth of a thankful heart in our own lives. And, when we are more thankful, that thankful spirit will “rub off” on those around us.
Today I pray that I may strive to be more in tune not only with God, but with my family and friends…and in the process cultivating thankfulness.
