Psalm 23:4 (KJV), "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
There will be times in life that we have to walk through the valley. But we do not have to fear the evil that may lurk in the dark hidden areas. For, God Almighty is with us. But the next part of the verse, "thy rod and thy staff they comfort me", is interesting. A shepherd's crook is not only used for the shepherd as a walking stick, but he uses is to hook around the neck of a goat or sheep that is straying and reroute it back in the right direction. There will be times in life that God needs to redirect us. Yes, it would be so much easier to make a new route and get out of the valley as quick as possible. But, He has a reason for allowing you to go through the valley. Trust Him and know that He is walking by your side and be comforted that He is there to ease the grief and distress that you face during your journey through the valley.
