Stay On The Right Track…

Philippians 3:12-16 (MSG), “I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me.  Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward - to Jesus.  I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.  So let's keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision - you'll see it yet!  Now that we're on the right track, let's stay on it.”

None of us really have it all together.  That is the goal we are striving for…to be what God has called us to be.  But, we are a work in progress.  We must keep running forward and not looking back.  Staying focused on the goal ahead of us.

As a pilot flies a plane, he must depend on his radar to guide him in the direction he must go because he can only see so far in front of him.  He must follow the flight plan.  If he veers to the left or to the right, his radar will let him know.  It is much the same way with us and our walk with God.  God is our “radar”.  He will guide us along a flight plan that He has chosen for our lives.  If we begin to veer to the left or to the right, He will open our eyes and let us know.  Of course, if we are not paying attention and have not read the “handbook” He has given to us, we will not hear nor heed to His warnings to correct our direction.  So, we must stay focused on what is ahead and stay on the right track.

Lord, help us to stay focused and on the right track.  Help us to hear you when you reach out to us to gently guide us back on track when we begin to veer off the flight plan.  I thank you for your Word that it is a light to guide us in the dark of night.  And, I thank you that you are still working on us to make us what you want us to be.
