Philippians 4:11b (NIV) says, "for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances." This verse came to mind when I read this quote from an unknown author: "He who is not content with what he has will not be content with what he wants."
We live in a society that is always wanting more of this and more of that. To the point in some instances that is literally costs them everything to get it. And yet, they are still not content. Over the years I have realized and embrace the fact that GOD can supply us with everything we need. Yeah, I may not have that new something that I may want, but our every need is taken care of. We have a roof over our head, clothes on our back, dependable vehicles to drive, we are blessed with good health and we have food in the pantry. And, as we dedicate our lives complete to Him, He blesses us with an occasional "want". I have learned that I can be content in this life...as long as I have HIM to watch over us.
He sees that sparrows fall to the ground and cares for them. And, we are more important to Him than MANY sparrows (Matthew 10:31). What a mighty God we serve! I am SO thankful that watches over us and take care of our every need!
