Isaiah 65:24 says, "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." I chose this scripture because I want to share a story about a young lady who did not see the miracle that moved toward her in her time of distress. The young lady and her family were under stress because of financial situations and other things that seem to weigh them down. In her despair she called out to God and said, "If you are still there for us...reassure us that You are going to take care of us...if you have called us, show us that you are still near". A short time later her Dad called. Even though he lives some 600 miles away he called her at least once a week to see how she was doing. He asked how his "sunshine" was doing. She broke down and told her Dad that the stresses just seemed to be closing in and she felt like she was going to have nervous breakdown. He Dad talked with her for a while and asked if he could call a Pastor friend of his in another state to help pray for her. Of course she said that would be fine. Unbeknown to either of them at that precise time, several hundred miles away a Man of God listened to the gentle nudge of God and began to write a check. He had no clue who he was supposed to write it to but was in the process of writing it when he received a call. The young lady's Dad told the Pastor friend of his daughter and how stressed she was feeling. The Pastor friend asked for the young lady's address. The Dad willing gave it thinking his friend was going to send a "We're praying for you card". But...a couple of days later the young lady received her unexpected miracle in the mailbox...just when she need the reassurance the most.
Last week my husband cut down a tree that was close to falling over on the rent house next door. After the tree fell he noticed that there had been a nest in it. A baby bird fell to the ground. Jack brought it back to the house and tried putting it in an existing nest with baby birds in it in our garage. A mama bird had built a nest in our garage a while back and the eggs hatched recently. The mama bird fed her own but did not do much with the extra baby bird. So we have brought it into the house and are taking care of it until we can get it to a local wildlife animal shelter. I was thinking today how the Word of God says that even one sparrow does not fall to the ground that God notices it and takes care of it. But we are more important than many sparrows. Hearing the story of the young lady above just encouraged me even more that God knows how to take care of His children. And, His timing is always perfect. Like a wrote in my blog yesterday...I have never been out of His care. And each day if we look around us, we all have unexpected miracles. It doesn't have to be monetary to be a miracle. Just the breathe of life we have is a miracle. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow. But, live each day you have as a blessing from Him. And remember that you are important to Him and you are never out of His care!
