The song "Turn, Turn, Turn" is going through my mind this morning. You know...the song that says" "To everything turn, turn, turn. There is a season. Turn, turn, turn. And a time to every purpose under heaven". The Byrds sang it. Even Dolly Parton sang it. But the song comes from a well known scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8; 11a ~ "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace...He hath made every thing beautiful in his time"
Confucius said, "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." That is so true. There is a time and season for everything. And believe it or not, there is a purpose for everything that we face from day to day. But, one thing we seem to forget is that He has made ALL things beautiful in HIS time. There is a beauty in every situation we face, but our physical eyes fail to see it. Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose". We love Him...we are called according to His purpose...everything will work together for good.
The words beautiful in Ecclesiastes 3:11a is translated from the Hebrew as "good, excellent". It comes from the Hebrews that means, "to shine bright". All things can shine bright and be good in our lives. Yes, we may still have "storms" come our way. But, when we remain focus on Him...He can shine through those "dark clouds" and illuminate our situation so that we can see the good and beauty in it,
