I'm On The Track Of Righteousness & Love!

Proverbs 21:21 (NIV) says, "He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor".

To pursue means to go after or to be on the track of.  When you track an animal on a hunt, you follow after the evidence left behind.  It will lead you in the right direction.    The Word of God is the evidence left behind for us to follow.  When we begin to pursue righteousness and love: We will be alive in our spirit; we will be revived!  We will be successful and thriving in our walk with God.  We will find integrity, uprightness and faithfulness.

Righteousness is the accepted standard of right and wrong.  The Word of God clearly shows us what is right and wrong, or what is holy and what is unholy.  In 1 Peter 1:15 the Word of God tells us to be holy in all manner of conversation.  The Greek for "manner of conversation" translates: "manner of life, conduct, behavior, deportment".  Every area of our life needs to reflect righteousness or holiness.

Love...we have read John 13:34 where Jesus said, "love one another as I have loved you".  Jesus was the best example of what genuine love for another is.  We must have an unconditional love for one another.  But, we must also have an undying love for God and the things of God.  Every area of our life needs to reflect love.

What we have in our hearts will be reflected on our outward appearance.  What is in our hearts will effect every area of our life.  So, If we have a genuine love for God and others in our hearts, and a desire to live a holy life...it will be seen in our dress, actions and speech.

Living for God is a continual learning experience.  As we daily track and follow after the Word of God, we will discover how to live our life in manner that reflects righteousness and love.
