"Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go." Isaiah 48:17
He is our Redeemer! The Hebrew translates this as one who acts as a kinsman redeemer. In the book of Ruth, Boaz was a kinsman redeemer. Back in Ruth’s day, the kinsman redeemer avenged deaths, claimed inheritances for poor family members, and married the widow of a dead male relative. In like manner, Jesus is our kinsman redeemer. We are His children and He is willing to redeem us so that we can get back on our feet and on the right path.
He is the Holy One. 1 Peter 1:15 says that we are to be holy as He is holy. He is our example of how we should conduct ourselves. He is set apart, consecrated, sanctified, and dedicated. That is exactly what we should strive to be...Holy.
He is a teacher or instructor. He teaches us to be profitable, benefit and rise above our circumstances. So that in Him we can be victorious. He teaches us that when the mountains in our life can not be moved, we can climb them. And in the process we are learning and benefiting from our experiences. Just remember, He has promised that we would not be tempted more than we are able to bear (1 Cor. 10:13). Everything happens for a reason. He - God Almighty - is in control. So, we can be assured that everything will be okay.
He is a guide. He leads us the way that we should go. He conducts the orchestra of our life...He is the pilot of our life...He steers our ship on the stormy sea of life...He guides us to walk on the paths of righteousness...He lights our path with His Word; showing us the way to go.
When I stop to think that the God that created the universe by just speaking...the God that heals sin, disease and sickness...the God that humbled himself to become a man so that He could die for my sins...this same God cares enough about little ole me that He desires to be my redeemer, a holy example for me to follow, my teacher and my guide. We are definitely a privileged people to be called His children!
Where He leads me I will follow. Where He leads me I will follow. Where He leads me I will follow. I'll go with Him, with Him, all the way.
