Living As A Child Of Light

John 3:21 says"But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."

Those who act rightly and according to the Word of God come to the light.  Ephesians 5:8 says that we "were once in darkness but now are light in the Lord. Live as children of light".  Why?  So that the things we say and do may be visibly seen as Godly actions.  Matthew 5:16 says "let your light so shine that they may see your good works and GLORIFY YOUR FATHER which is in heaven".   And, if we are truly living as children of light, all manner of our conversations and actions will be holy as HE is holy.  1 Peter 1:15-16 says But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 

It is all about living a Godly life.  To be Godly is showing a devotion to God and to a life of virtue.  The Merriam-Webster Dictionary list these words as synonyms: holy, prayerful, reverent, worshipful, blessed, chaste, pure, righteous and virtuous.  Following God's Word will produce Godly thinking.  Godly thinking will produce Godly emotions.  Godly emotions will produce Godly decisions.  Godly decisions will produce Godly actions.  Godly actions will produce Godly habits.  Godly habits will produce Godly character.  Godly character will take you to His plan for your life.  Operating in His plan will produce abundant life! 

In John 10:10 it says, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly".  The devil would love to distract us from following God's Word and the plan He has for our lives.  That is his job; to steal, to kill and to destroy.  But JESUS came that we might have the privilege and opportunity to come to the light and live and abundant life in Him.  The choice is yours...which do you choose?  Me?  I would choose light over darkness any day!
