The Word

My paraphrased version of John 1:1-14 and my ramblings:

In the beginning of time a Word went forth and created everything into existence. That Word was with God, it was God. All things were created by Him. That Word became flesh and dwelt among men. In Him was light. He was (and still is) the life of men. Many attentively listened to His teachings and believe that He was God...being full of grace and truth. He was in this world, the world was made by Him, but there were some that chose not to know who He was. But to those that received Him and believed that what He says is true, He gives them power to become sons of God ...they are His children!

Just think of it...What a promise! When we believe His Word to be true, hiding it our hearts...when we make Him a part of our lives in every way...He adopts us as His own and give us authority as His children. It is using this authority and His name that brings victory. In Mark 16 it says, "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." As His children, we are His hands and feet in this world. He is our heavenly Father and is our example of how we should live our lives. We must be JESUS to this world!

His Word - the Word that spoke everything into existence...the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us...the Word that is full of grace and truth is: quick & powerful (active & alive) and sharper than any two-edged sword, it can reach into a soul and analyze what is righteous and unrighteous...and severs the unrighteousness from the soul...it will turn us "inside-out" so that we can see what is in our hearts. It is our road map in this life. We can not travel down the path of righteousness without it.

What would we do is that Word had not become flesh? What would we do without the Word to guide us? Where would we be? Thank God for the Word!
