In Isaiah 49:16, God says, "Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me". The walls He was talking about was the walls of Jerusalem that had been torn down by the Israelites enemies. And, when He said that "thy walls are continually before me", He knew that the walls were ruined at that point, but He was looking ahead at the plans He had to have them rebuilt.
Have you ever felt like the "walls" of your life have been torn down? Feeling hurt, frustrate, depressed, oppressed or discouraged? I know I have! But one thing I must remember is that I am graven on the palm of his hand. The term, "graven on the palm", would be compared to me taking a piece of string and tying it around my finger to remind me of something that needs to done. Whatever I do, I am continually conscious of that string. Therefore it reminds me of what I need to do. So it is with God. I am like a string tied around the palm of His hand. He knows all that I may be faced with from day to day. And before I cry out unto Him, He is already working on a plan. A plan that will rebuild the walls of my life and give me the strength and reinforcement that I need in my life. In Isaiah 65:24, God says, "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear". He will not forget me...He will not forsake me...and what He has planned and promised to do in my life - He shall do it...for I am graven on the palm of His hand and the walls of my life are continually before Him!
It is awesome to know that no matter what you and I are faced with - He knows exactly where we are at. And, just as it says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future". The plans He has for our lives is to give us hope and a future. All we have to do is follow the path He has lain before us.
To wrap up my thoughts for today, I wanted to leave you with a song that was written by a friend of mine, Lee-Ann Buhr. It is a copyrighted song and I have included it with her permission. But, I hope it blesses you as much as it did me!

You
Who on earth is like our God?
You are seated far above all others
And I am so unworthy of Your love
You have changed this fallen man
You wrote my name inside Your hand
And You say that I can come to you just as I am
Chorus
You are more than I could need
You're the very air I breathe
You're worth more than all the riches I could bring
You are life within my veins
You're the One Who made my days
And I will sing praises to Your matchless name!
Lord, when I look at all You've done
Just how far my life has come
Then I see all the glory of the One
Who has taken all my sin
And has made me whole again
And I know that this is where a new life can begin
